How ZER0 designs: fabric first, then 3D, then bulk
The Design and 3D document explains where a ZER0 programme is actually decided. Four things happen first: read the requirement, match it to the base, engineer the fabric, prove it in 3D. A rendered garment is approved at the right weight and drape before a metre is cut, and the team that built the file follows the style into production.

four things we do first
Read the requirement: what it is for, who buys it, what it has to prove and what it has to land at. Match it to the base: the origin, the mill and the line that wins that style on capability, not on convenience. Engineer the fabric: construction, weight, hand and finish developed against the programme rather than selected from a shelf. Prove it in 3D: a rendered garment approved before a metre is cut.
approve it before it exists
CLO 3D sampling puts the garment in front of you as a rendered sample, at the right fabric weight and drape, without fabric, freight, waste or packaging. Fewer physical rounds, less freight, and the decision made earlier where it is cheapest to make. Lower minimums mean more styles tested and fewer wrong ones bought.
design does not hand off and walk away
A sketch that cannot be made is decoration. The team that develops the fabric and builds the 3D file follows the style into production: first bulk fabric approval, in-line checks, and final inspection against the approved standard. Design intelligence from North America and India is engineered into reality by the base that will build it.
development sits inside the base
Print, embroidery and dye development run inside the base, with 700 embroidery heads and in-house print at the cluster, alongside natural dye solutions developed in India. Development is not a service bought in at the end; it is where the programme is decided.
The fabric library sits with the people who knit, dye and finish rather than in a cupboard. Develop your own fabric with ZER0, or choose from what the base already runs.
questions this document answers
- Does ZER0 do 3D sampling?
- Yes. CLO 3D sampling renders the garment at the right fabric weight and drape and is signed off on screen before a metre is cut, which removes physical rounds, freight and waste from the approval stage.
- Is ZER0's design team separate from the factory?
- No. Design intelligence from North America and India is engineered into reality by the base that will build the style, and the same team follows it through first bulk fabric approval, in-line checks and final inspection.
