Clandestine: from phone videos to four development sheets

ZER0 · published 19 September 2026

Clandestine wanted to start importing ready-to-wear. What arrived was phone videos and a few photos.

No tech packs, no spec sheets, no fabric notes: a quarter-zip, a striped polo, a pullover hoodie and a full-zip hoodie, filmed and photographed on a phone, and a question about what they would cost to make.

Most suppliers answer that with a price. A price built on a guess is a promise nobody can keep, so we built the garments first.

Four development sheets

Each style came back as a 15 to 16 page ZER0 development sheet: technical front and back, construction, base-size measurements, two fabric routes, trims and a sample request. Every field carries a code for where it came from: seen in a photo, seen in the video, stated by the buyer, read from a published size chart, or proposed by us. Nothing we inferred is dressed up as something we measured.

Then the evidence changed, and the sheets said so

A second pass pulled 35 frames from the videos. The polo’s care label showed a different fibre blend from the one we had proposed, so the sheet now offers ours as an alternative, not a match. The full-zip’s zipper teeth did not match our first proposal, so it was flagged for reconciliation. Where a label was unreadable, the blend stayed open instead of being locked.

One question did the most work

A photo of the label inside each garment. It turns an assumed fibre blend into an observed one, and the blend drives the fabric, the price and the route.

What it shows

The quotation is with the client now. Every style will be sampled at the agreed weight and approved before anything is cut.
